Stream A Preview Of Africa Hitech’s Bizarre And Brilliant New Album

Well this is the most inventive thing I’ve heard in a while. While the office rotation of Pete & The Pirates and Brother hasn’t made that much of a compliment, the new Africa Hitech album ’93 Million Miles’ would stand proud against most releases in 2011 so far. Let’s go ahead and use the word fusion.

Africa Hitech

A jarring fusion of Detroit techno and Jamaican dancehall, with aspects of dubstep, jazz, electronica and numerous other noises it’s the product of two prodigious minds, Mark Pritchard and Steve Spacek, who signed to (where else but) Warp to release this brain-boggling collection of tracks. The music speaks for itself really, albeit in tongues.

Here’s my favourite track from the LP, ‘Out In The Streets’, in its entirity.

It’s out May 9th. Do the honourable thing. They play Fabric May 13th and something ominously called the Bangface Weekender the following day. Thoughts?
