Tall Juan’s Mac DeMarco-Recorded EP Is A Rollicking Thrill-Ride – Listen

Argentinian-born Tall Juan (Juan Wauters) now lives in Far Rockaway, in New York’s Queens, – putting him a stone’s throw from the home address Canadian auteur Mac DeMarco read out at the end of his August mini-album, ‘Another One’. The connections don’t end there – DeMarco also recorded the bad boy’s new EP, ‘Why Not?’ at his Jizz Jazz Studios. It’s out via BUFU Records on November 1 on cassette and vinyl, it’s crammed with attitude, and its songs all clock in under two frantic minutes.

There’s another Juan on his rollicking thrill-ride of an EP too – his best friend Juan Wauters, frontman of New York band The Beets, provides the frenetic drums that back the record’s unfussed indie. He’s been described as a “Latin Elvis inspired by the Ramones” – hear that explosive mix below:
