1. Apple Music Festival
When? September 18-30
Where? Roundhouse, Camden
What? Exclusive one-off concerts from some of the biggest names in music, including Britney Spears, Calvin Harris, Elton John, The 1975 and Alicia Keys. They’re all streamed online too, but anyone can apply for free tickets on Apple Music.

2. Bermondsey Street Festival
When? September 17
Where? Bermondsey Street, SE1
What? Billed as "the perfect blend of village fête folksiness and Bermondsey Street style", this free annual bash is known for its competitive (but also very cute) dog show as well as its diverse musical offering. This year's event promises "a mix of dub, afro-beat, disco, folk, ska and soul" as well as "more eclectic dance beats" on a second stage.

3. Bloomsbury Festival
When? October 17-19
Where? Various locations in and around Bloomsbury, WC1
What? This varied three-day festival in one of London's most cultured districts includes dance performances, breakfast talks, sound and visual art installations and a "street party with a twist", but a series of free concerts will definitely be a key component. The full lineup has yet to be announced but this year's theme is described as: "LANGUAGE, from computer code to the language of food, music and dance.” Intriguing.
