The Death Set are back with a new single in the new year, ‘Slap Slap Slap Pound Up Down Snap’, which is named after some special handshake they have between themselves. The Freemasonsy track is out Jan 10h, but in the meantime they sent us a cover of The Cure’s ‘Grinding Halt’ (from the latter’s classic debut ‘Three Imaginary Boys’) and it’s exactly the kind of throw-beer-over-each-other punk missile you’d expect.

Speaking about the track the band’s Johnny Siera said: “Was lying in bed at a babe’s house passing in and out of consciousness while she was fluttering about downstairs. She put ‘Grinding Halt’ on and I automaticly woke up thinking ‘who is this ’77 punk rock act’? When she told me I instantly remembered again and got stoked that this song featured on the same album as ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ and ‘Killing An Arab’. We decided to cover it while throwing up.”
