If you're into the harmonies of Beach House or the meandering melodies of Grandaddy you might quite like this first track - The Phoenix Foundation's 'Pot' squishes the two into three of the nicest minutes we've heard in a while. The band hail from Wellington over on the bottom of the world and they just won Best Band at the New Zealand Music Awards, so expect to hear a lot more from them in 2011.

The Phoenix Foundation

'Pot' is taken from their forthcoming album 'Buffalo', which is released in the new year through Memphis Industries. UK tour dates are being pencilled as we speak so keep an eye on their Tumblr for more info.

Next, a remix of Yeasayer's 'Madder Red' from Belgian brothers Hermanos Inglesos that ramps up the electro but stays relatively loyal to the original.

Not heard of Hermanos Inglesos? This is what they get up to in their day jobs:

And in case you didn't see it, Popwatch is offering a free 24-minute mini-mix featuring some of Chase & Status and Plan B's best tracks. Pick it up here.
