The Simpsons are set to head to Burning Man festival this weekend in a brand new episode airing in the US. In case you didn’t know, Burning Man’s famed for its trippy hedonism and fast unspooling sense of reality – a week-long annual blowout in the Nevada desert, far away from civilisation, that’s kinda like Mad Max remade by the Mighty Boosh. On paper, it should be a good watch – the last time Homer ventured to a festival, 1996’s ‘Homerpalooza’, housed, in this writer’s opinion anyways, one of show’s all-time best gags (“Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins.” “Homer Simpson, smiling politely.”). And, with any luck, the episode will get into the weird, mind-warping spirit of the festival and deliver another episode like the one where Homer eats “Guatemalan insanity peppers” and hallucinates a giant space coyote voiced by Johnny Cash who helps him discover his soul mate. Either way, can’t wait to watch. Check out another image below.
