These Russian Artists Have Inserted Famous Film And TV Characters Into Reality

What do Star Wars, Batman, The Simpsons and Hey Arnold all have in common? Well, nothing really, except that they’re all subjects in this Russian community art project.

Collaborative online outfit 2D Among Us takes your favourite cartoon, film or TV characters and photoshops them into banal stock photos, with stunning results.

Yup, only in Russia could feckless oaf Homer Simpson, Game Of Thrones’ Jon Snow and the monster from Insidious coexist happily in the same venture. It almost makes their weird answer to Fantastic Four seem vaguely normal. Almost.

Their Instagram page is stuffed full of visual delights. Ever wondered where the Batmobile stops for petrol? Wonder no more. Want to know what Deadpool does on his days off? That’s in there too. Harry and Ron’s favourite hangout spot? You betcha. They’ve even managed to recreate the famous bus stop scene in Forrest Gump without any of the normal Photoshop giveaways. Basically, they’re pros.

You could spend hours trawling through the hundreds of entries. And while we can’t fit all of them here in this blog, we’ve done our darndest to pick out the best of the bunch. From The Simpsons’ big day out to The Joker prowling around, there’s some real gems. Check ’em out below.
