The upcoming Grammys are being advertised in the States with an HMV 'My Inspiration'-style campaign in which musicians talk about songs that influenced them.
Thom Yorke's pick may come as a surprise. Rather than go for one of the glitchy electronic artists he usually raves about – Autechre, Modeselektor etc – he's chosen David Bowie's 'Ashes to Ashes'.
Has Yorke become more mainstream in his tastes since hitting 40? Or did he pick a whole bunch of songs, and this is the one they picked out?
