Track Exclusive - Little Boots, 'Broken Record (Hackman Remix)'

Nearly four years after her excellent debut 'Hands', Little Boots/Victoria Hesketh is back with single 'Broken Record' already out there and album 'Nocturnes' to follow on 6 May. Now 'Broken Record' has been reworked by Leeds DJ and remixer Hackman, who's taken the dreamy, bell-clanging electro-pop of the original and, well, scooped it all out. We're left with Hesketh pitched-up and sounding just a bit like Kylie as Hackman surrounds her with echoes of 808 State's 'Pacific 202' and any number of Fingers Inc deep Chicago house cuts.

It's a smooth bass odyssey that neatly introduces us to an album that promises to draw on similar influences, what with Simian Mobile Disco's James Ford and Hercules and Love Affair's Andy Butler on board and ex-DFA man Tim Goldsworthy in the producer's chair. Listen to 'Broken Record (Hackman Remix)' below.

Little Boots' 'Nocturnes' will be out on 6 May on Kobalt Music.
