It’s not easy to get away with covering Depeche Mode, but The Family Rain’s ‘Enjoy The Silence’ makes the cut.

Drummer Tim Walter explains the cover:

“We wanted to cover a song that was completely different in style to what we do and see how we could make it work. ‘Enjoy The Silence’ was wicked to work with because it has plenty of great hooks and melodies. The drums in the original are pretty iconic and have been looped/sampled by quite a few other artists. We wanted to construct a beat close to the original but with more harshness and groove. We have been so busy at the moment the track was recorded in one night from evening to morning which felt pretty fitting because it is a haunting track. We’re stoked with the result and it is always good to step into the unknown.”

The Family Rain play London’s Heaven tonight and their debut album Under The Volcano will be released on February 3.
