Track Premiere – Islet, ‘Tripping Through The Blue Room (Part II)’

Exciting news! Islet are back with a new album. ‘Released By The Movement’ will come out in October on Shape Records. ‘Tripping Through The Blue Room (Part II)’, the first taste of the band’s follow-up to debut ‘Illuminated People’, has that goth-psych flavour but sounds like the band are pushing the experimental boundaries further. Recording with a friend called Sweet Baboo, the band recorded stream of consciousness sessions and expressed love, anger and their “obsessive need to freak”.

Here’s Emma Daman Thomas on Islet’s ambitions for the new album:

Our aim is not to gather followers in the style of a cult, nor to encourage puppyish devotion for the sake of our own vanity. Instead, with this record, we hope to inspire in others a hunger to work out their own way of being. To go free is to value the freedom of expression afforded to us
