True Confessions Of Pete Doherty - Inside This Week's NME (Apr 7)

Pete Doherty has broken his silence – the Libertine is on the cover of the new issue of NME, and inside is possibly his most revealing interview yet. Having not given a big music mag interview for years, he talks about the future of the Libs, reveals his surprising new solo album plan and opens up about the death of his friend Amy Winehouse. It's the must-read Pete feature of the year.

Also in the issue, we took Frank Turner to an empty Wembley Arena – where he's set to play next week – to scare him/find out his thoughts about the most important gig of his career. We're sure there'll be a few more people turning up on the night of your show, Frank.

It's a bumper week for reviews this issue, with the NME verdicts on Alabama Shakes' debut plus Florence + The Machine's MTV Unplugged and Drake live.

We've also gone crazy with our favourite madcap new pop star Grimes. On the agenda: strip-searches, writing porn, homemade tattoos, illegal ballet sessions and cracking floors at parties. She's an interesting one, is our Grimes.

We've also got some inside info on The Stone Roses' June Manchester shows, gone behind the scenes with Odd Future as they set up shop in London, took a peek inside The Killers' record collection and have the lowdown on our favourite new band this week: Brooklyn's Oberhoffer.
