Cowbells and oscillating riffery make a comeback with the new single from Welsh five-piece We Are Animal. 'Black Magic' (out Sept 13th) is a curious hybrid of Rapture-esque disco-punk and Dandy Warhol-like choruses that doesn't know exactly what it wants to be in the best possible way.

Huw Stephens is a fan, which is always a good sign. The band kick off a UK tour August 20th in Liverpool. More on the MySpace.

Lots of fun things on the new Chilly Gonzales single 'I Am Europe', meanwhile. The track's sprinkled with his trademark piano riffing, full of barmy vocals and nonsensical lyrics ("I'm socialist lingerie, I'm diplomatic techno, I'm gay pastry and racist cappuccino. I am Europe!") and comes complete with a bizarre video starring Tiga.

It's out now on Boysnoize on 12", can be pre-ordered on iTunes ahead of its August 15th release, and comes with a load of mixes including this techno edit from fellow Boysnoizer Djedjotronic. Chilly Gonzales' album 'The Ivory Tower' is out August 30th through Schmooze.
