1. Weezer – ‘Paranoid Android’ (Radiohead Cover)
After showcasing this cover a few days ago in Atlantic City, Weezer have taken to their studio to share a more polished version with the world through YouTube. Check it out below, then stop by Stereogum to download an mp3 of the band’s take on Radiohead. While they didn’t do much to change it, we’re still enjoying the experience of hearing Rivers sing Thom’s part. What’s your verdict on their cover?
2. Metronomy – ‘The Bay’ (Stopmakingme Remix)
Our favourite remix of the week comes from Daniel Avery (aka Stopmakingme), who toyed around with Metronomy’s latest tune, ‘The Bay’. Grab the full track exclusively from wearehunted.com, or download a 72-minute mix featuring this song, along with his remixes of Death From Above 1979, In Flagranti, Munk, Ghost Eyes and loads more.
3. The Wombats – ‘Techno Fan (Afrojack Remix)’
Seems fitting for there to be a remix of a song about techno music, no? While we’re sure there are loads of them already floating around the web, we’ll stick with the official one from Dutch DJ Afrojack – they’ve even already produced an official video for it, which you can watch below. If you like it, then you can click here to purchase the single (it’s out now via Beatport).
4. SPIN – ‘Summer Playlist’
One of our favourite Stateside music mags is offering up free 10-track summertime playlist. It’s got Yuck, Vivian Girls, Puro Instinct, Telekinesis and more – it’s basically your essential sunshine playlist.
5. Visions Of Trees – ‘You People Are My Poison’ Mix
It might not have the most inviting of titles, but once you get past being called poison, you realise it’s one hell of a mix. Clocking in at 34 minutes, it’s got the likes of Gucci Mane, Young Jeezy, Becoming Real, Ashanti, The Prodigy and Visions Of Trees themselves. Don’t forget you can catch the duo at Rockness, Glastonbury, Lounge On The Farm, Field Day and Beacons Festival this summer.
6. Frankmusik – ‘Do It In The AM’ (MNEK Remix)
Frankmusik’s returned, and he’s getting ready to release his second album, ‘Do It In The AM’, this September. And from what we can hear on the title track, it’s a bit less cheesefest than his debut was (don’t get us wrong – it was a good kind of cheese). Check out the video for the original track, featuring Far East Movement, below, and download a free remix from MNEK over on Soundcloud. You can find this remix, along with ones from Les Loups, Jacob Plant and Frankmusik’s Crystal Palace remix, on the single, out July 18th.
7. Dynasty Electric – ‘Radiation’
This one’s been on constant repeat since appearing on our radar – partly because it’s awesome, and partly because it’s too darn short. Brooklyn-based duo Dynasty Electric have been working with producer Ski Beatz and industry bigwig Damon Dash to release their debut album (‘Golden Arrows’) through Dash’s label, BluRoc Records. After hearing this track, it’s definitely an album we’ll be picking up. You can also grab a free download of their song ‘Electric Love’ (featuring Brian Chase of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs) over at dynastyelectriclove.weebly.com.

8. Young The Giant – ‘My Body’ (Two Door Cinema Club Remix)
Club NME alums Young The Giant have been remixed by Two Door Cinema Club, resulting in an ultimately indie-riffic summer dance tune. As much as we love the original song, TDCC give it the extra kick it needs, making it one of this week’s must-have downloads. ‘My Body’ is out May 16th via Roadrunner Records.
9. Hooray For Earth – ‘No Love’
The Boston-based band are gearing up to release their debut album, ‘True Loves’, on June 7th via Dovecote Records – and this track is single number three. This song, featuring guest vocals from NYC female quintet Zambri, was apparently inspired by “Yuengling Black & Tan in the can.” Hey, who knew a cold brewski could be so moving?
10. Get People – ‘Away’
In just a little over a year, this London-based trio have split live bills with The Wombats, Metronomy and Crystal Fighters, and they’re already releasing their second EP (‘Rain Tears’) on July 11th through Friends vs Records. They’re currently offering its first release, ‘Away’, as a free download. It’s dark, poppy, trancey and downright catchy.
