Witnessing White Rose Movement’s whistlestop tour through every scenester dive on the list back in 2006 – an achingly of-the-moment nano-surf on the gothic electro zeitgeist – you’d be forgiven for thinking that their fifteen seconds would start and end right there. Chiselled of cheek and angular of fringe, produced by Paul Epworth, formed in Trash and sniffing vaguely of electroclash – they couldn’t have been more mid-noughties if they were Test Icicles’ merch guy.

White Rose Movement

However, like The Horrors wriggling through the clenched grip of the ever fickle nation (myself included) they’re looking likely to resurge this summer. This is the comeback single, a double AA with ‘Small And The Witches’ Revenge’ on ltd 12” with hand-painted sleeves (June 1st, via Pure Groove, Rough Trade) and via iTunes.

And somewhat like The Horrors it’s a pulsing, spectral kraut kind of track corroded with distortion. ATR / MBV / JAMC (or even BRMC) kind of stuff, if you’re fans of abbreviated touchstones.
