Remember this?!

I have to say I didn’t think I’d be writing about late nineties one-bedroom-hit wonder White Town (aka Indian-born, Derby based straight edge ex-Marxist Jyoti Prakash Mishra according to Wiki) when I rolled into work today, but these days it’s anybody’s guess where new tracks will take you.

The reason I bring him up is because grime stalwart Wiley has recorded a “contemporary take” on the track with vocalist Emeli Sandé, ‘Never Be Your Woman’, which is out Feb 28th through Virgin.

It’s a big tune that takes the meandering melody of the original down a notch and fills the gap with muffled synths, electronic bongos and shout outs to the women of Shoreditch. We got sent the Hervé remix which you can get here.

Next up, Vessels. Electronic post-rock band from Leeds. Currently on-tour with Oceansize. For fans of: Russian Circles, Laura, I guess Oceansize and at a push even Foals. Look like this:

This remix comes courtesy of Scottish glitch-freaks Errors, who incidentally release an astonishing album of post-prog-math-rock treats via Rock Action soon (pre-order it from the website here). Download Errors‘ remix of An Idle Brain And The Devil’s Workshop here

Yeasayer are giving away their latest single ‘O.N.E.’ on their site – don’t miss it. (Be sure to get the album – or at least ‘Love Me Girl’ – too).
