We wouldn’t normally sing the praises of a big-money marketing campaign, but this is pretty special. Over the weekend, London’s Brick Lane was transformed into 8-Bit Lane – a reference to the technology that gave old-school computer games their distinctive blocky graphics – in a bid to promote Wreck-It Ralph, Disney’s acclaimed film about an arcade game character. Passers-by were confronted with pixelated models of a London taxi, postbox, pigeon, tree, clouds, and (oh yes) a pile of 8-bit dog shit.
