Glasgow trio Baby Strange first popped up on our radars with a handful of gloriously scuzzy demos back in 2012. They’ve been playing the long game since, sporadically dropping singles like debut ‘Pure Evil’ and follow-up ‘Never Enough’. ‘Distance Yourself’ is next in line and it’s sparser than anything the three have done before, relying on creeping, wire-thin guitar lines for the most part before it erupts in a burst of fuzz, adding more fury to frontman Johnny Madden’s laments about people “trying to take our fun”.
Baby Strange head out on tour next month. They will play:
Nottingham Rescue Rooms (May 31)
Bristol The Fleece (June 1)
Birmingham Sunflower Lounge (2)
London Barfly (3)
Manchester Fallow Cafe (5)
Glasgow (6)
Edinburgh (7)
Dundee (8)
