‘60s girl-group might be as rife in indie as the wild fuzz of psychedelia but Brooklyn’s Lucius are far from pastiche. Leading ladies Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig update the sweet sounds of The Ronettes and The Supremes with lashings of folk and plenty of positive spirit. As debut albums go, ‘Wildewoman’ is one full of sparkling promise and a big clue as to why the band have been setting so many tongues wagging since the record’s US release last year.
