In terms of cool new indie going down around NYC right now, Frankie Rose is in one way or another the Godmother of at least two thirds of it. First she formed The Vivienne Girls, then when she got bored of that setup Crystal Stilts, then when Dee Dee needed a stickslady for Dum Dum Girls, no prizes for guessing who she dialled... Finally she's struck out on her tod, or at least, in name she has. Her and a few of her fave ladies are kicking the shit out of the city's garage-pop underground under the moniker Frankie Rose And The Outs - that is before she ups and leaves for greener pastures next month - only joshing Frankie! We lurve you...
