Vic Mensa’s first solo release since his band Kids These Days split earlier this year is called ‘Innanetape’ and you can download it here. With stylistic comparisons to that other great mixtape of the year, Chance The Rapper’s ‘Acid Rap’ – and Chance contributes a guest verse on ‘Tweakin’ – Mensa has served an ace. It’s imaginative hip-hop with booster jabs of funk, soul and electronic swizzles. The 14-track release features Thundercat, Eliza Doolittle, Ab-Soul and Rockie Fresh and the singer/rapper will be touring the US with Disclosure in January. One to watch for sure…
