Since we first spoke to them in April 2015, London quartet The Big Moon have released a steady stream of massive tunes, and that doesn’t stop with ‘Formidable’. This aptly named track takes its sweet time, only properly amping up around 80 seconds in, and holding back its irresistible ‘ooh’s for the moment everything comes together. They make it sound so easy.

Today’s a bonus for Big Moon fans: alongside the release of ‘Formidable’ they’ve also announced details of their debut album, ‘Love In The 4th Dimension’. It’s set for release on April 7, 2017 via Fiction, and includes re-recorded versions of previous singles like ‘Sucker’, alongside recent ones ‘Cupid’ and ‘Silent Movie Susie’.
It was recorded over the summer with production by Catherine Marks and Big Moon ringleader Juliette Jackson, who says, “We spent twelve gorgeous summer days in the studio hanging out with the brilliant producer and super babe Catherine Marks, experimenting and noodling and shredding and hitting things until all the right noises happened at once. We’ve been playing these songs for two years now, and it’s a dream come true to finally immortalise them on record. It’s like having eleven tiny babies all at once, all with their own little faces and voices and personalities, and now we’re ready to throw them out of our nest and into your ears.”
The band are touring the US with The Japanese House soon – stay tuned for announcement of UK dates, and see the tracklisting for ‘Love In The 4th Dimension’ below.
