New Music - Mozart's Sister, 'Mozart's Sister'

Exciting news! Mozart's Sister aka Montreal's Caila Thompson-Hannant has a new track.






It's called 'Mozart's Sister' and it's the lead from her new EP 'Hello'. Using loops, layers, a drum machine and her extraordinary voice, she was the finest new act I saw at SXSW in 2011 and at Pop Montreal in 2012, a vibrant whirlwind to watch. There are 80s and 90s influences; she reminds me simulateously of Mariah Carey, Cyndi Lauper, Beyoncé - and comparisons with Grimes and tUnE-yArDs will inevitably be drawn. But it's also incredibly fresh and slick.

Who knows whether it's directly about the intense relationship between Mozart and his sister but that's definitely a story worth checking out as well.
