Catholic Action Make A Compelling Case For ‘Breakfast’ Being The Most Important Meal Of The Day With Their Smashing New Single

It’s often said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day – a sentiment that Glasgow four-piece Catholic Action would certainly endorse.

They know all about when “the milk drips down the tie” – a daily predicament faced by millions of commuters rushing through their Cheerios every morning (other breakfast cereals are available) – but it’s important to start your day right; a mantra the band have evidently adapted to the songwriting, if ‘Breakfast’ is anything to go by. There’s no messing about with this new track, with brooding basslines, strutting toms and sliding guitars laying down the framework for frontman Chris McCrory to make an inviting offer – “take my hand, take my advice” – that seems hard to ignore.

‘Breakfast’ is one part of Catholic Action’s forthcoming double A-side single (which also includes the interestingly-titled single ‘Rita Ora’), which earns its release on 7” vinyl and download on September 23 via Luv Luv Luv Records. Naturally, McCrory is keen to talk up this latest offering, likening it to “if Status Quo did heroin with My Bloody Valentine: Breakfast is best served with sour milk. Pray loud. Play louder.”
