Much has been made of Milk Music's SST-influence since they appeared out of nowhere in August last year. But if anything, I think the Dinosaur Jr references are even stronger in today's tip, the Amhurst, MA based Californiax.

It's super-early days for the band, but there's growing buzz about them (Sounds Of Sweet Nothing, who've released Gross Magic and Unknown Mortal Orchestra, blogged about them recently).

The band only have a super-rough demo online at Bandcamp at present, but there's a hearty slab of potential there. Like Milk Music, it just sounds exciting.

Check out everything below, but 'T-Town' and 'Spirit World' are particularly worthy of your time:
