By The Sea are getting a fair bit of heat at the moment, and rightly so. The Wirral band have a handful of tracks online, and as I alluded to in the magazine this week, they make me think of Mick Head if he was fronting Voyager 1 era Verve. Possibly.

They're also working with Bill Ryder Jones on their album. Conversing with Radar about that, Danny from the band said, possibly seriously: "We hope it sounds like a series of failed Springsteen anthems played with too many chorus pedals. That is the theme."

And this is 'Waltz Away':

The band've teamed up with The Great Pop Supplement (limited edition LP) and Dell'orso Records (CD) for the album, which all being well should be out by the summer.

Check them out at the Leaf Café in Liverpool on March 8 and the Lexington in London on March 11.
