Cause for celebration today, as AlunaGeorge have announced what probably constitutes their first proper UK tour.

They've played sporadically over the past few months, but May 6 sees them kick off a slew of more high-profile outings. And if you like your bands buzzy, well step this way…

Ever since 'You Know You Like It' (below) blew up last year, the duo – Aluna Francis (ex of My Toys Like Me) and George Reid – have courted the kind of hype that would unnerve 99% of new bands. But they've actually played it pretty well – keeping a low profile, and letting the rumours go into overdrive (apparently Pharrell is begging to work with them).

And of course there's recent newie 'Just A Touch', which rather cements their 'ones most likely to' status:

The dates see them supporting Friends, Benga, headlining London's YoYo and heading out to a few UK and European festivals:

May
6 – Digital, Newcastle (w/ Friends)
7 – King Tuts, Glasgow (w/ Friends)
8 – Academy 3, Manchester (w/ Friends)

10- YOYO @ Notting Hill Arts Club, London
11 – The Great Escape, Brighton
12 – O2 Academy 2, Birmingham (w/ Friends)
