Brought to you from the management team behind The Cribs, Crystal Castles and The Vaccines, it's fair to say Zulu Winter already have a fair deal of expectation around them.

This despite the fact they've only just announced details of their debut single and played hardly any publicised shows. That single – a limited 7" – is released on November 7, and comprises two slabs of bright'n'dancable indie. You can hear both songs right here:

'Never Leave':

'Let's Move Back To Front':

Of those two it's probably 'Let's Move Back To Front' which grabs me the most – a shimmering Brian Wilson reminder of vocal line that's been cut'n'pasted into a 2011 play on A Certain Ratio… And all done while the band no doubt kept a stern eye on what you can still get away with getting playlisted on national radio, I reckon. Indeed, I'm guessing Zulu Winter would warmly welcome mainstream attention rather than shun it - and fair play for that.

Tomorrow night they play Hoxton Bar and Kitchen with Clock Opera, and last night they supported current About To Break band (in the mag) Outfit – an act they also share a singles label with, Double Denim.
