Radar Tip Of The Day 70: Replicas

I might be wrong, but pretty much every song I've heard by Replicas seems to concern itself with 'the city' - or at least the heaviness and weirdness that comes with living in urban sprawl.



It's funny, because both members of the band – Helena Gee and Ashiya Eastwood – actually hail from the north. Live, they're icy as hell (a recent show saw them play in almost-complete darkness), while on record they remind me a bit of 90s almost-stars Linoleum.

Now based in London, they're about to release their debut single on Tim Burgess from The Charlatans' new label O Genesis. It's called – wait for it – 'The City' and it's out on September 26:
