Edinburgh fivepiece Pet's first offering, 'What You Building?', was in our Radar Mixtape a few months ago, so it's grand to see them follow it up with another winner.

Pet

‘Middle Child Syndrome’, which they release properly on November 7, is way more taut than it's predecessor, revolving around a faintly Motown shuffle while also managing to still seem suitably weird. I particularly like the middle eight, where it goes all Beach Boysey, if that is a word, and they sing a line about wanting different hair and being square.

Just as interesting is their take on Nirvana's (ha, only kidding - Shocking Blue's) 'Love Buzz', in which singer Peter Boggon sounds uncannily like Robbie from The Big Pink.
