Sunless '97 are, on the face of it, what you get when you put Edward Eke, singer from Larrikin Love – remember them? – together with Warp hero Kwes.

Their mixtapes over the past few months have been mighty good – even though they had the balls and/or audacity to put Sting's Fields Of Gold on one – and their soon-to-be-released debut EP (out next Monday via Abeano) is just as interesting.

This Friday they play their first gig, at – ooooooooh the suspense – a secret venue in west London. More details about that here.
