Anyone who has even a vague interest in Burger Records will probably be aware of Curtis Harding. The Black Lips-affiliated singer was one of the hits at this year’s SXSW, where he was part of the Burgermania crew – to put that into context, they book upwards of 50 acts to play across four stages in a run down bar for the final, most chaotic day of the festival. There’s a new act starting their set every 15 minutes, and in short, you’ve gotta be fucking great to stand out – which Curtis most definitely did.
Now signed to ANTI- Records, he’s finally set to release his fine album, ‘Soul Power’, in the UK on January 15. Handily, I don’t really need to predict how good it is, because I’ve been listening to it pretty solidly for the past six months.
‘Keep On Shining’ is the lead single:
Curtis has also just announced his debut UK tour this November and December:
Nov 26 – London, Electrowerkz
Nov 28 – Manchester, Soup Kitchen
Nov 30 – Glasgow, Nice N Sleazy’s
Dec 1 – Bristol, Louisiana
Dec 2 – Brighton, Komedia Studio Bar
