From grubby beginnings in a Merseyside squat (albeit a mansion) to the verge of launching debut album 'Performance', Liverpool five-piece Outfit have travelled a long way. To London, for a start. In the last year or so they've put out a couple of ear-catching releases in the single 'Two Islands'/'Vehicles' and EP 'A.N.D.R.E.A.' and now they're trailing the album with this exclusive track.

'House On Fire' is a short, sweet shot of synth-driven eeriness, the sound of a relationship disintegrating even while Andrew Hunt and Thomas Gorton harmonise, "We get on like a house on fire". Take it with a pinch of sarcasm. For all the wry humour, it's as catchy as a wicketkeeper, a sign of a band mobilising for the big time.

'Performance' is released on 12 August on Double Denim Records; 'House On Fire' follows on 26 August. Outfit will be playing Electrowerkz in London on 12 September and tickets go on sale here this Friday (19 July) at 9am.
