The Sonic Aesthetic is Mark Barrott, an electronic composer based in Ibiza by way of Sheffield, Uruguay and Berlin.

The Human League, Cabaret Voltaire and Steve Reich are some of Barrott's influences, as is the concept of decluttering: moving away from "the overly compressed, overly aggressive production of 2013". You'll hear that in 'Mendicant Adventures' - it's a lean, immersive listen. One imagines the title of the song - mendicant meaning to rely on the charitable donations - is part of his turning away from a "society bloated by excess" and giving away 80 per cent of his posessions. Hypnotic stuff.

'Tales From The Nocturn' is released on 11th March on International Feel
