Erika Iris Simmons describes herself as an "experimental artist specialising in using non traditional media." As these photos attest, her materials echo her subject matter, in that she creates portrait silouettes of pop icons out of cassette/VHS tape and film reel - as well as (in the case of the Ian Curtis example) - sheets from magazines and old books. Bonus fact: Simmons had a hand in producing the video for Bruno Mars' 'Just The Way You Are' - but don't hold that against her. Visit iri5 for more.
