Marvel's latest summer blockbuster Ant-Man opened in cinemas last weekend - and shot straight to the top of the box office in both the UK and US. Paul Rudd stars as Scott Lang, a petty criminal who acquires the ability to shrink in size but increase in strength and become a superhero known as Ant-Man under the tutelage of Dr. Hank Pym, a scientific genius played by Michael Douglas.
NME sat down with Rudd recently to discuss what attracted the actor, best known for his roles in comedy films like Anchorman and This Is 40, to this "strange, quirky" Marvel superhero movie. Rudd, who also helped to write the film's script, goes on to explain how the film strikes the right balance between comedy, action and emotional moments involving Scott Lang's daughter, Cassie.
