After many years of not caring about it any longer I have decided I'm going to start following Rugby League again. Does anyone else here follow it? Which team do you support? Back in the day I used to be a Leeds Rhinos fan. This was when Bradford Bulls were one of the best teams in the league, which says a lot about how long ago it was!

Huge RL fan here fella. Only downside of the Yo La Tengo gig on Sat was that I missed England-NZ, although we managed to catch some of the closing stages down the pub. Should be able to see the final on Sat - at a family bash but hoping to sneak away to the lounge with a few cans.
I'm a Hull KR fan. My local team, growing up in the East side of Hull. Haven't seen a live game for a few years with living in Manchester, last one was at Salford a good 7 or so years ago. Strictly an armchair fan but watch all the big games on the box down the pub. |

Oh I went to the Grand Finals at Old Trafford in 2005 and 2006 (I think), I should add. The 2nd one was Saints-Hull FC and I was there with a few old mates who support FC, kind of rooting for the enemy - for shame! So those were my last live games.

Saints are scum I laughed when I found out we beat them in the super league final. Are your mates from Liverpool/Manchester/that area or are they just glory hunters?
Last match I went to must have been 2003, when I saw Rhinos vs. Bulls at Headingley, and we lost. A traumatic experience. ![]() |

Glory hunters.
![]() I guess if you're from South Leeds you're a glory hunter for supporting the Rhinos and not Hunslet Hawks. Hawks fans generally dismiss the Rhinos as "a team for posh cunts from North Leeds". But I am from North Leeds, so Rhinos all the way!![]() There's also Bramley Buffaloes from West Leeds, but they have about three fans in total! ![]() Last edited by Revol44 : 11-09-2009 at 06:03 PM. |

Slightly off topic, but I keep meaning to get into American Football. Every year it slips my mind though.

Just watched the England-NZ highlights on the iplayer. Terrific game. We really look to be clicking now. Strength in depth in the forwards and Tomkins-Eastmond is our most exciting half-back pairing in living memory IMHO.
The Aussies are just unbeatable though, aren't they? I think there's something about that green and gold jersey. Worth about 10 points on its own, somehow. |
