Mariah Carey, Steven Spielberg, Giorgio Armani have also visited the Capri-based original restaurant.

An Italian restaurant endorsed by Beyoncé and Jay Z is opening a London pop-up later this month (November).

Aurora, a family-run restaurant which has been serving diners on the island of Capri for over 100 years, has also welcomed Mariah Carey, Steven Spielberg, Giorgio Armani and Catherine Zeta-Jones through its doors.

From November 18 to 26, Aurora’s chef will be teaming up with Ristorante Frescobaldi in London’s Mayfair for a special pop-up serving the dishes which has made the original restaurant so popular with A-listers from the worlds of film and music.

Aurora’s owner Mia D’Alessio told the Evening Standard: “We have a tradition, we are a family. We have the best products and so this combination makes all the people who come to Capri come to Aurora.”

She added: “It’s the sensibility of simple things, the simple kitchen, but great food — that’s all they want. Three, four ingredients on each plate, and these are the things that make the restaurant famous — because we have in the world a bit too much of the restaurants with the extreme kitchens.”

D’Alessio also revealed that when he visited the restaurant, Jay Z enjoyed pezoggna, a locally caught fish. Beyoncé preferred to tuck into the restaurant’s signature pizza.
