  • The Stone Roses confirmed they have reunited at a press conference earlier this week (October 18). The original line-up - frontman Ian Brown, guitarist John Squire, bassist Mani and drummer Reni - announced the news at London's Soho Hotel where they revealed plans for two homecoming gigs at Heaton Park on June 29-30 in 2012 before embarking on an extensive world tour.

  • Eminem has spoken out about how the prescription drug Ambien caused him lose huge chunks of his memory. The rapper also says that the sedative contributed to a four year long stretch of writer’s block. Eminem says that the pills were ‘wiping out brain cells’.

  • Beyonce has been accused of faking her pregnancy and enlisting a surrogate mother to give birth to her first child. Internet rumours have been compounded by footage from the singer’s recent appearance on Australian television show Sunday Night, on which she revealed her baby was due in February 2012.

  • Noel Gallagher has revealed that two of the tracks on his debut solo album were recorded by Oasis twice. The singer admitted that the tracks '(I Wanna Live in a Dream in My) Record Machine' and 'Stop The Clocks' were attempted by his former band but weren't included on any of their albums.

  • Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose has revealed that the band's former guitarist Slash was pretty loose with his bladder control. Speaking to fans in Paraguay Rose said he would hang around his guitarist and whichever girl he had brought backstage with him that night until Slash got so drunk that he wet himself and the singer would then steal the girl from him.

  • It's official - The Stone Roses have reformed for comeback shows in 2012. They will play two gigs at Manchester's Heaton Park, June 29 and 30, followed by a world tour. The legendary Manchester band also promised new material. Singer Ian Brown said: "This is a live resurrection, and you're invited, so you better be there."

  • A Facebook campaign has been launched in a bid to help Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' to the UK's Christmas Number One spot ahead of the winner of this year's X Factor. The 'Nirvana For Christmas No. 1' group, which has nearly 10,000 members.

  • Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore have confirmed that they have split up and their marriage is over. The rock couple released a statement last week (October 14) through their label Matador Records revealing that they were separating after 27 years of marriage.

  • Ex-Oasis and Beady Eye frontman Liam Gallagher is among a host of stars who have championed the return of Manchester legends The Stone Roses. The singer took to his Twitter page Twitter.com/liamgallagher to express his delight at the reformation of the original line-up. He wrote: "[The] Stone Roses getting back together not been this happy since my kids were born... LG."

  • Coldplay have said that their new album 'Mylo Xyloto' could be their "last album". Frontman Chris Martin said that he could not imagine recording another album at the moment as the band have put so much time and energy into the creation of 'Mylo Xyloto'. He said: "This could be our last album."

  • Rapper Rick Ross is reportedly in a stable condition in hospital after suffering from two seizures in one day (October 14). According to TMZ, Ross – whose real name is William Leonard Roberts II – was hospitalised in Birmingham, Alabama after he lost consciousness during a flight for the second time yesterday.

  • Courtney Love has pulled Hole out of Australia's Soundwave Festival after she found out that her band would be below Limp Bizkit on the bill. Love tweeted her frustration about the booking, messaging the festival's promoter AJ Maddah with the words: "What bloody flight of crazed fancy made you think we'd open for Limp Bizkit dude? No offence, that's nuts."

  • Liam Gallagher has hit out at brother Noel, after he described the latter days of his time in Oasis as "a bit of a sham". Liam took to his little used Twitter account to criticise his brother's comments and to tell him to contact him in four years time. The tweet read: "A sham? Speak for yourself, I never faked anything, go to bed and give me a shout in 2015."

  • Tickets for The Stone Roses' trio of Manchester Heaton Park shows have completely sold out. The first two gigs set for June 29-30 sold out within 14 minutes of going on sale Friday morning (October 21) with 150,000 tickets being snapped up. The band then added a third date on July 1 which sold out less than an hour later.
