  • Facebook has denied that it has banned Nirvana's classic album cover for 'Nevermind' from being posted from the site. Despite it being widely reported yesterday (July 27) that the social networking giant had demanded the cover be taken down due to its graphic content, representatives for the website have told NME this is not the case.

  • This week (July 26) Liam sent a cryptic tweet, “One Word. Dido”, which many people have taken as a three-word review of his brother's debut solo single, 'The Death Of You And Me'. Earlier this month the Beady Eye frontman posted the word "SHITBAG" on the day Noel announced his plans to release a solo album.

  • A host of musicians and celebrities including Hayley Williams and Lily Allenhave taken to Twitter to pay tribute to Amy Winehouse, who died today (July 23) after suffering a suspected drugs overdose at her London flat. Allen said that the singer's death was "beyond sad", adding: "She was such a lost soul, may she rest in peace.

  • Morrissey has branded the actions of Anders Breivik, the man responsible for last week's twin attacks in Norway as "nothing" when compared to McDonald's and Kentucky Fried Chicken. The singer allegedly made the comments during a gig in Warsaw on Sunday (July 24), before playing The Smiths song 'Meat Is Murder'.

  • A spokesperson close to Amy Winehouse's record label has said that the late singer had recorded around 12 new songs which may now see the light of day. The anonymous source is said to be linked to Universal, which owns Winehouse's label Island, and revealed that though the songs are unfinished, their "framework" was in place.

  • Portishead's Geoff Barrow has hit out at Coldplay and the "fucking fireworks" they let off during their live appearances. Asked by Pitchfork what his least favourite thing about playing a European festival was, Barrow replied: "Playing next to Coldplay, with their water cannons or fucking fireworks or whatever the fuck it is. Come on."

  • Fans of Amy Winehouse staged an impromptu street party outside her house in Camden Square, London, during the evening following the soul singer's funeral. Gathering in the road, surrounded by hundreds of floral tributes, as well as fan art, bottles of alcohol and lit tea lights, fans danced to her songs.

  • Amy Winehouse's goddaughter Dionne Bromfield performed live just two hours after the 'Back To Black singer's death was announced yesterday. The 15-year-old, who had been mentored by Winehouse, played at Pontypridd event Ponty's Big Weekend as support to boyband The Wanted.

  • Amy Winehouse has been cremated after a private funeral this afternoon. The singer, who was found dead on Saturday (July 23) in her house in Camden, London at the age of 27, was mourned at a 45-minute memorial service at Edgwarebury Cemetery in Edgware.

  • Chad Channing has said he would consider working with his former Nirvana bandmate Krist Novoselic again. The Before Cars frontman was the drummer in Kurt Cobain's band between 1988 and 1990. However Channing said he'd be keen to hook up with Novoselic again as he prepares to record a new album.

  • Noel Gallagher's daughter Anais has been snapped up by Select Model Management. The 11-year-old, who Noel fathered with ex-wife Meg Mathews, has joined Agyness Deyn on the books at the London agency. Mathews apparently has high hopes for the youngster, who has already posed for Paul Smith adverts.
