  • Muse are set to play at this year's South by Southwest festival, according to reports in the US. Currently on tour in North America, the band's label Warner Music said that no show is confirmed, but Billboard.com insist that Matt Bellamy and co will play Stubb's in Austin on March 20, along with Metric.

  • Amy Winehouse has designed a range of clothes for the Fred Perry label. The range, set to hit shelves in October, includes polo shirts, jackets, dresses and pencil skirts, reports Drapersonline.com – which is hosting a picture gallery of the items.   • Around 160 Metallica fans were arrested on Wednesday (March 10) after a riot outside the band's gig in Bogota, Colombia. Hundreds of ticketless fans turned up to the US group's concert at Simón Bolívar Park and attempted to breach barriers, reports Sky News. 1,500 police officers were present outside the venue – tanks and police trucks were deployed, as the authorities had been expecting trouble.

  • The Strokes are set to play this year's Lollapalooza festival, according to reports in the US. Currently working on the follow-up to 'First Impressions Of Earth', the Chicago Tribune reports that frontman Julian Casablancas confirmed that the band would be playing the event, which takes place at Grant Park, Chicago between August 6-8.

  • The Cribs, Foals and Mumford and Sons are among the latest names to be added the line-up for this year's Benicassim festival. Joining the already confirmed Kasabian, The Prodigy, Vampire Weekend and Dizzee Rascal, other new additions include Hot Chip, Ellie Goulding, Two Door Cinema Club and Echo And The Bunnymen.   • The former members of Pink Floyd have won their High Court battle with record label EMI in a case relating to the online sale of their songs. They had taken EMI to court over a contract negotiated in 1998 and 1999 which stipulated that their songs were not allowed to be sold individually without prior permission.

  • Pete Doherty has been banned from driving for a year after allowing his manager to borrow his car without insurance. Andy Boyd, a manager of Babyshambles, was jailed for a year last month for a hit and run he committed last September. He was driving Doherty's Daimler at the time.

  • Lady Gaga and Beyonce's video for 'Telephone' clocked up half a million views in the 12 hours since it was premiered earlier this week. 'Telephone' features on Lady Gaga's 'The Fame Monster' album and is released as a single in the UK on Monday (March 15).

  • Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan has launched open auditions to find a new bassist and keyboard player to replace Ginger Pooley after she quit the band last week. The auditions aren't the first Corgan has held recently – last year the band replaced drummer Jimmy Chamberlin the same way.

  • The Flaming Lips' frontman Wayne Coyne says he wants to recruit Justin Timberlake to feature in a new film he is making. Coyne told Billboard that he is hard at work on the new film, which will be his first foray into movies since completing 2008's 'Christmas On Mars'.
