50 Cent: I've removed tattoos for film roles
Rapper confirms removal for upcoming cancer part
50 Cent has removed some of his trademark tattoos for film roles. The rapper-turned-actor - real name Curtis Jackson - currently has to spend extra time in make-up each day before shooting to cover them up.
The 34-year-old is starring with Chase Crawford and Kiefer Sutherland in crime drama Twelve, out later this year, and Things Fall Apart, where he will be playing a high school football player with cancer.
He told The People: "It cuts down on the amount of time I have to spend in make-up covering them up."
He called the removal "an ongoing process", though says he has no plans to completely remove his tattoos. His arms will be tattoo-free, but he plans to keep the tattoo on his back.
Earlier this year, 50 Cent announced plans to shed 65lbs for his role in Things Fall Apart, which he co-wrote. Jackson's company Cheetah Vision Films is producing the movie, which is expected to start shooting after his European tour ends this month.
