'Alan Partridge Movie' cast grows
Sean Pertwee and Colm Meany join Steve Coogan in the comedy legend’s big-screen debut
The first big-screen outing for Steve Coogan’s legendary comic creation is currently shooting in Norfolk, and now producers have revealed a list of actors who will be joining the already-established Partridge ensemble, according to Empire.
Sean Pertwee, star of Law And Order: UK and Luther, and son of Doctor Who star Jon Pertwee, will appear alongside former Star Trek: The Next Generation star Colm Meany. BAFTA-winning actress Anna Maxwell Martin, Monica Dolan from recent Brit comedy Sightseers, and newcomer Dustin Demri-Burns complete the list of new additions.
The Partridge movie has been written by Coogan, Neil and Rob Gibbons, Peter Baynham and Armando Ianucci, with Declan Lowney directing. Little is known about the plot, except that it concerns Alan’s attempts to resurrect his broadcasting career, “while negotiating a potentially violent turn of events at North Norfolk Digital".
Partridge was last seen in the web series Mid Morning Matters, and in two TV specials for Sky Atlantic, Welcome To The Places Of My Life and Alan Partridge On Open Books.
It is scheduled for release this summer.
