'Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa' will premiere in Norwich ahead of London following a Facebook campaign
The film's executive producer and co-writer Armando Iannucci broke the news on Twitter earlier today (July 8).

Partridge will attend the film's world premiere at Norwich's Hollywood Cinema at lunchtime on July 24 before taking a helicopter flight to Leicester Square for the London premiere that evening.
The full statement from Partridge reads: "You can imagine how hurt and litigious I felt when people said I was planning to debut my movie in London instead of Norwich, or that I'd allowed my head to be turned by the prospect of big city fame. Any suggestions I've hastily cobbled together the lunchtime Norwich screening in response to a local Twitter campaign will be met with the full force of the law."
Rafiq Turnbull, who started the campaign with his friend Rob Wilkes and watched it amass nearly 7,000 likes on Facebook, told the Norwich Evening News: "It's amazing, it all feels very overwhelming at the moment."
Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa will then open at cinemas across the UK on August 7. Director Declan Lowney has previously revealed that it places Steve Coogan's hapless DJ in a hostage situation.
"The notion of Alan being caught up in a hostage situation is outlandish, but how it happens is perfectly believable," Lowney explained. "Steve strives for stuff to be real, even with all the gags. That said, there's quite a bit of action. We've got violence, guns and heavy kissing." Scroll down and click 'play' to watch the trailer.
