A new clip of Scarlett Johansson in action in Marvel Avengers Assemble has been released.

The actress plays Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, in the all-star superhero blockbuster, a role she reprises from Iron Man 2.

In the new clip from Joss Whedon's movie, which you can watch below, Black Widow is interrupted by a phone call in the middle of an interrogation while tied to a chair. But on learning that "Barton's been compromised", she is forced to take drastic action.

Johnasson herself has expressed a desire to play Black Widow in a solo movie. She said recently: "I love playing the Widow. I think she’s got a very interesting past, a lot of storylines to explore, and certainly [producer] Kevin [Feige] loves that character."

Marvel recently announced a three-issue mini-series The Avengers: Black Widow Strikes based on Johansson's portrayal.

Marvel Avengers Assemble assembles the character with Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), Hulk (Mark Rufallo), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Hawkeye (Captain America). It is released in the UK on April 26.
