'Batman: The Dark Knight Rises' to be shot in Pittsburgh
The Pennsylvania city will double as parts of Gotham City
The Dark Knight Rises is to be shot in Pittsburgh, it has been confirmed. Director Christopher Nolan has revealed that his third and final Batman film will see the Pennsylvania city double for parts of Gotham City.
According to Hollywoodreporter.com, Nolan said in a statement: "Pittsburgh is beautiful city. We have been able to find everything we are looking for here, and I am excited to spend the summer in Pittsburgh with our final installment of Batman."
He has already met with Mayor Luke Ravenstahl, who said: "We are thrilled to be welcoming the Batman film to Pittsburgh, and eager for the economic impact our city will experience. This is another example of the growing film industry in our community, and we will be rolling out the red carpet for them."
The Dark Knight Rises sees Christian Bale return to the role of Batman, with Anne Hathaway cast as Catwoman and Tom Hardy as Bane.
