Belle du Jour's 'Secret Diary Of A Call Girl' to get the Hollywood treatment?
Billie Piper's TV show is reportedly being looked at by producers
The TV series Secret Diary Of A Call Girl may be turned into a feature film. The series, based on the once-anonymous blogs and Telegraph column of academic scientist Brooke Magnanti, charts the life of a university educated woman moonlighting as a high class prostitute in London.
The Sun reports that Billie Piper, who is currently filming a fourth series based on the blog for ITV, believes a big screen adaptation is possible, declaring: "I'm not sure it has legs beyond a fourth series, so we're trying to develop a movie."
The UK series was a surprise hit in the US, and executives looking for the next Sex And The City-style spin off movie have taken note of the rave reviews, including one from the New Yorker, which called the show "an eight-episode blast of summer heat" .
