Big Boi has hinted that an OutKast biopic could be in the works.

During his recent Reddit AMA, the rapper was asked by a fan: "With all the hype of Straight Outta Compton, it has made me curious of other great rap stories. Any chance of an Outkast biopic of you and Andre in the future?"

Big Boi replied promisingly: "Me and 'Dre were just discussing this over Labor Day. Stay tuned. - Big." Though the duo - Big Boi and Andre 3000 - haven't released an album since 2006's 'Idlewild', they performed at more than 40 festivals worldwide last year to mark Outkast's 20th anniversary.

NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton topped the US box office when it opened last month and has now grossed over $180 million (£117 million) at cinemas worldwide - more than six times its estimated $28 million (£18 million) production budget. Following the film's success, Raekwon has called for a similar film about the rise of Wu-Tang Clan.

Meanwhile, it has also been reported that a sequel to Straight Outta Compton could be in the works, focusing not on NWA, but the lives and careers of Snoop Dogg and the late Tupac Shakur.
