Britney Spears set to appear on 'Glee'

Singer set for an episode of the TV series featuring her music

Britney Spears set to appear on 'Glee'

Britney Spears is set to appear in an episode of Glee based around her music. The singer will feature in an episode dedicated to her songs, but will not mention her personal life, reports BBC News.

Last month, Glee creator Ryan Murphy revealed there would be a Spears episode, but it was unclear whether the singer would appear on the show.

However, speaking on US radio show KIIS-FM, Murphy declared: "Britney, I think 100 percent, is going to be on the episode. It's about her music and not her personal life. We're handling Britney with sort of kid gloves. I really admire what she's done with her life and how she's turned things around."

Murphy also explained the format of the episode, saying that Spears will not be appearing in the high school, but in a series of fantasy sequences in which members of the glee club visit the dentist and imagine themselves singing with the star.

Other rumoured appearances include Paul McCartney, who recently sent a mixtape to Murphy for inclusion in an episode of Glee.

Glee received 19 Emmy nominations last month.
