'Captain America' actress Hayley Atwell joins Disney's new 'Cinderella' movie
Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter and 'Game Of Thrones' actor Richard Madden will also appear
Hayley Atwell has joined the cast of Disney's new live-action Cinderella movie, which is being directed by Kenneth Branagh.
The actress, perhaps best known for playing Peggy Carter in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger, shared the news in her online diary for Harper's Bazaar.
"I am about to start filming Kenneth Branagh's new movie, Cinderella," the actress wrote on August 16, "playing Cinderella's biological mother at the beginning of the story, the embodiment of goodness and maternal love". Atwell has since tweeted that she is actually shooting her role at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire this week (beginning August 19).
Atwell joins a cast that includes Cate Blanchett as the wicked stepmother, Game Of Thrones' Richard Madden as the prince and Helena Bonham Carter as the fairy godmother. Downton Abbey actress Lily James is starring as Cinderella after Emma Watson turned down the role and Disney has set a release date of March 13, 2015.
Meanwhile, Atwell has recently filmed a second appearance as Peggy Carter in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which comes out on April 4, 2014.
